New Position: Arts & Humanities Teacher

Our private alternative high school is looking for an engaging, student-centered Arts and Humanities Teacher to fill a full-time position, beginning as soon as possible January, 2023.

The candidate must be able to teach: English 9-12 (required)
Other subjects: Geography, History, Art, Photography, Native Studies (would be an asset).

New Position: Science, Math & Business Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic and student-centered Math, Science and Business Teacher

to fill a full-time position, beginning in Term 3, 2023.

The candidate must be able to teach: Science 9-12 (required)
Other subjects: Math, Chemistry, Biology, Business (would be an asset).

 Our Ideal Teacher 

AVRO teacher candidates speak fluent English and live in the GTA. They need to be a creative facilitator, with in-person high school teaching experience, as well as experience in synchronous online teaching.
The candidate needs to be patient, friendly and outgoing, with good time-management and organization skills.

A successful candidate must have the ability to work well with students who have ADHD, high functioning autism and other related learning disabilities. Our teachers need to be resilient and supportive with the ability to pivot whenever a student needs one-on-one attention and adapt project schedules or deliverables to reduce stress and increase success.
We require a minimum 3-years active and proven teaching experience.
